Period Delay
Prescription Period Delay Tablet
If your period is likely to clash with a holiday, festival or special moment, you might want a bit more control over your timing. A period delay tablet can help you enjoy your plans without the worry of bleeding or cramps.
Our NHS-trained GPs can prescribe Norethisterone or medroxyprogesterone when it’s right for you. It’s a simple way to manage your cycle.
Why choose MyDoctor for your period delay tablet?
Your information is always reviewed by a UK-registered GP with years of NHS experience. They’ll only prescribe Norethisterone or medroxyprogesterone if it’s safe and suitable for you.
You can request treatment at a time that suits you, without appointments or long waits. Our questionnaire is quick to complete and helps us understand exactly what you need.
If your GP needs more information, they’ll reach out for a friendly, free follow-up chat. You’ll always have the chance to ask questions.
Once approved, your prescription is issued through SignatureRx, who arrange convenient delivery straight to your door with clear updates along the way.
How our period delay prescription process works
Getting a period delay tablet with MyDoctor is designed to be simple from start to finish.
You’ll complete a short online questionnaire that helps us understand your health and what you need. One of our NHS-trained GPs will review your answers carefully and make sure Norethisterone or medroxyprogesterone are right for you. If your GP needs anything else, they’ll reach out for a quick chat.
Once treatment is approved, you’ll receive a payment link, and your prescription will be issued through SignatureRx.
They’ll arrange delivery straight to your door, so you can start your tablets at the right time for whatever you have planned, whether that’s a beach holiday, a festival weekend or an important celebration.
Period delay tablets we offer
Our GPs can prescribe Norethisterone or medroxyprogesterone, trusted period delay tablets used to temporarily postpone your period. It contains a synthetic form of the hormone progesterone, which your body naturally uses to control your cycle.
Norethisterone prevents your progesterone levels from dropping, which helps delay your period by stopping the shedding of your womb lining.
You’ll usually start taking Norethisterone around three days before your period is due. It’s usually taken three times a day, and we’ll provide you with specific instructions on exactly how to take it.
You can take the tablets for up to 17 days to delay your period, depending on what you need and what your GP advises. Once you stop taking them, your period usually starts again within a few days.
Using Norethisterone or medroxyprogesterone to delay your period does not affect your fertility. Your cycle should return to its normal pattern once your period starts again.
You’ll only be offered treatment if it’s the right choice for your health, and your GP will talk you through what to expect so you feel comfortable and informed while using it.
